Cool Deals for Fun in Taipei

Great food, loadsa shopping options and unique street culture. These are but just three reasons why some friends visit Taipei on a regular basis, especially on long weekends. Knowing their beloved city has these and a whole lot more to offer, the Taipei City Government is hence pulling all stops by announcing four ‘Free n Easy’ packages for travel warriors at its Fun Taipei Pop-up Cafe @Bugis+ yesterday.

The four itineraries basically divides the city into four regions. Go East if all you wanna do is eat and shop as you will find endless shopping and dining options from the Xinyi shopping district to the iconic Taipei 101. For more historic fare, go West where there are ancient temples and standout landmarks such as the Xiamen Red House. Here you will also find eateries such as Dian Shui Lou that offers popular Taiwanese culinary delights such as xiao long bao.

Key attractions South of Taipei include the Maokong Gondola (cable car) and the Taipei Zoo, while foodies should take note that the district here is not only renowned for many teahouses but also restaurants that offer exquisite tea-infused dishes. Last but by no means least, if you just want to relax and rejuvenate, head North and enjoy the many hotsprings spas and hotels located here. Best thing of all? All the attractions mentioned above are accessible by MRT!
