O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree!

Wishing one and all a very Merry Christmas!
May the joy, peace and hope of the season be with you now and throughout the New Year!

Here’s three of my favourite Christmas trees from my recent Bangkok jaunt:
Central Tree_sm
1. Central World Mall
Arguably the tallest tree in the city – it’s almost the same height as the 7-floor mall itself!
Was the highlight of the Snoopy-themed Christmas decor which had hundreds of Snoopy figurines in various poses lined all along the walkway for selfie moments.

2. Centara Grand @ Central World
Understated yet eye-catching with its red and gold theme in the form of large ribbons and butterflies with two well lit reindeers guarding it. Exude the right festive feel without being too gawdy at a busy hotel lobby.

3. Hotel InterContinental
Good use of the hotel drive-in’s regular island garden plot with a good tall tree with a simple star, fairy lights and cutesy reindeer. Drew so much attention that thousands of passers-by were simply taking selfies with it not only from the ground, but also from the BTS walkway as they walked by way above ground!

Wishing everyone around the world Happy Holidays!

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord…
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!”

Have Yourself a Very Minion Christmas

Minion_Rush_Christmas_IconYou have to give it to the creators of the cute little minions in Despicable Me. When their popularity spread like wild fire, they just kept churning out loads of  just-as-good, just-as-funny-&-cutesy short films that are either shown on YouTube, the mobile game Minion Rush or in the Minion Mayhem ride at Universal Studios Orlando to keep interest going. Of course, not to mention the gazillions of Minion merchandise too.

Just take Minion Rush for instance, arguably one of the best mobile games there is with superb graphics, sound effects and of cos a minion cutesy interactive stuff. Just when you feel that yes, the game is getting repetitive, they will update it faster than you can say “Bello!” to keep fans hooked on for, well, another run. For instance, after Despicable Me 2 came out, new sequences depicting  portions of the sequel such as El Macho’s Lair, Minion Beach and The Mall were added to the original Gru’s lab and Residential Area.
Holiday LabNow, for Christmas 2013, GameLoft/Illumination Entertainment/Universal Studios has turned Gru’s Lab into a festive-lit Holiday Lab with new details, obstacles and thrills. They even added a festive sequence to the end of the introduction filmlet – in which IT minion Dave is told not to touch a red button in the lab which is like telling a minion he can’t eat a banana – that’s just how thorough they are!

Screenshot_2013-12-25-21-36-12There are also new characters for the season such as a snowboarder and  this Santa Minion (above)  which will cost you 400 “coins” which means that I will have to live without because I’m sticking to my stance of not having to pay to enjoy any of the games I play either on the phone or on Facebook. Anyway, I’m impressed enough with the new  animation additions which showed just how much thought have gone into it.

So before I mosey on back to Gru’s Holiday Lab, I would like to take this moment to wish every one around the world, especially those of you who manage to find something that caught your eye or interest at my blog, Musings on the M49… 🙂

A Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Me and my favourite Minions!
Cheers & God Bless!
