Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie @ Momentus Hotel Alexandra

Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie, located poolside at Momentus Hotel Alexandra (former Park Hotel Alexandra), is launching a “bigger and better” weekend buffet dinner starting with the Good Friday weekend on March 29 and 30, 2024.

Known for its modern European cuisine with a dash of Asian allure, the new Verandah weekend buffet dinner ($98++ per adult/$48++ per child aged 6–11 years) will now include a 5-course starter served tableside, a live flaming barbeque and a host of new hot dishes, in addition to popular offerings such as oceanic catches, sweet desserts and cold cut selections.

Thanks to a fellow writer and longtime friend, Musings on the M49 was thrilled to be a Plus One at the Verandah’s new weekend dinner buffet media launch.

5-Course Starter Served at Your Table

Truth be told, just the new 5-course starter alone is truly worth the buffet price alone. As we piled our plates with the other culinary delights from the buffet spread, the five special dishes were served at our table periodically, each one flavorful in its own way and beautifully presented.

First to arrive was the yummilicious Hokkaido Scallop Tataki adorned with Bottarga and Caviar; followed by the Stuffed Calamari brimming with minced chorizo, padron pepper and pimento harissa; and then it was the buttery Cod Fish served with a vibrant yuzu beurre blanc.

Next was the tender 24-Hour Braised Wagyu Beef Brisket nestled within a crisp Pie Tee shell; and finally, it was the scrumptious Iberico Pork Secreto infused with a hint of lemongrass.

The portions may seem minute but every mouthful was substantial and really tasty. The 5-course starter is certainly a unique touch for a buffet spread and which I think works rather well.

Roast Meats Galore
If you are a carnivore like me, the amount of delectable roast meats available at the buffet will be a pure delight.

There’s a live flaming barbecue that not only serves up grilled-on-the-spot goodness that is the Australian 200-day Grain-Fed Beef Tomahawk, it also offers a 12-spice marinated Roast Chicken, Crackling Stuffed Porchetta, Australian Boneless Leg of Lamb, Balinese Chicken Wings, Pork Belly Bulgogi, Seafood Sate Lilit and Cajun Butter Corn.

Seriously, even vegetables at the buffet such as carrots and asparagus looked really good (and mighty tasty too!)

Dishes to Eat While They’re Hot

There’s more. Stacked down the line from the roast meats are an expanded array of hot dishes that include Herb-Stuffed Salt Crusted Whole Barramundi, Chorizo Squid Ink Paella, Epoisses Potato, Cauliflower Gratin and—our personal favorite—the uber tender Buah Keluak Beef Brisket with Mantou.

Best of the Rest

And we are still not done: As someone who love my prawns and oysters, the seafood counter filled with utterly fresh oceanic catches such as Pacific Oysters, Poached Sea Prawns, Black Mussels and Sea Whelks was a joy.

Not forgetting the Charcuterie section filled with Parma ham and Jamon Serrano, flanked by by artisan cheeses such as Truffle Brie, Comte, and Gruyere.

Last but by no means least, there are also two dessert sections (including fruits) and hot soups with a selection of breads and herb butters.

If you are looking for a pleasant, cosy eatery for a good, long meal, the Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie is a nice place. And if you set your dinner around sunset time, you will get a great sunset view over the swimming pool (as long as it’s not cloudy or rainy!)

Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie’s new Weekend Buffet Dinner is priced at $98++ per adult and $48++ per child aged 6 – 11 years old. Children aged 5 and below get to enjoy complimentary pasta and pizza.
